Surprise Proposal at Lilacia Park | Kevin & Bree

Kevin’s future mother in law, Kelly, reached out to see if I had any availability in three days to shoot her daughters surprise proposal. Fortunately I did have that time slot open. Kelly, Kevin and I started firing off text messages to plan this shoot and to make sure it was kept a surprise. I love when guys take initiative to make their proposals unforgettable.

Kelly had asked Kevin and Bree to meet them at Lilacia Park in Lombard to help take pictures of her dog. Her and Kevin’s mom wanted to hide behind some bushes to witness the proposal so I met them before Kevin and Bree’s arrival to scout some locations.

The time finally came and Kevin texted us saying they were heading in and he was wearing a white shirt with black pants. Ok, game on. I started taking some pictures of the gorgeous tulips and lilacs, while looking for Kevin. I finally spotted him, he spotted me and I gave him the thumbs up.

Right away, he hugged Bree, then got down on one knee. You can say she was shocked. A very sweet moment surrounded by spring flowers. After saying YES! and after her initial shock wore off, Kevin pointed at me and she was pleasantly surprised that there was a photographer there to capture the moment. But let’s not stop there, the third and final surprise was when Kevin informed her that her mom and future mother in law were there. She was so happy she couldn’t stop crying tears of joy.

After the moms left, I took Kevin and Bree on a little stroll through Lilacia Park. The smile on Bree’s face still makes me smile now. Her happiness radiated through her. After 11 years of being together, her and Kevin are finally engaged! Congratulations again!
