Love in Bloom: A Rainy Day Proposal at Lilacia Park | Audrey & Billy
You know those magical, unexpected moments that spiral into something unforgettable? That’s exactly what happened during this shoot at Lilacia Park in Lombard, Illinois, with Audrey and Billy. They wanted to document their love and being a bit camera-shy, they were understandably nervous, but as soon as we started strolling through the park, they started warming up. The air was filled with the sweet scent of lilacs, and vibrant tulips danced around us. Seriously, nothing screams “spring” like a blooming park!
Just when we thought we had everything under control, the rain decided to crash our little photo op. But honestly, it only added to the charm of the day. We embraced it, laughing and playing in the drizzle, with the drops creating dreamy, dramatic effects in the photos. The mood was light and care-free; it felt like Mother Nature was playing along with our story.
But here’s where things really took a turn. Billy had been planning something big right under Audrey’s nose. Little did she know, while we were capturing their sweet interactions, he had orchestrated a surprise proposal! He had the ring under his hat the whole time! With the help of Audrey's sister, we set the scene, and when the moment came, her reaction was absolutely priceless. Tears, laughter, and pure excitement filled the air as they embraced, and I couldn’t help but feel lucky to witness such a beautiful moment unfold.
We wrapped up our session feeling all the love that had just bloomed not just in the flowers around us but in their hearts too. What began as a simple couples shoot transformed into an entire story of love, surprise, and new beginnings. Isn’t it amazing how photography can freeze such pivotal moments in time? It’s true—sometimes the rain brings out the most beautiful memories.
