There is nothing quite like the first 48 hours.
The smell of a newborn. The exhausted, overjoyed faces of new parents. The way a family of two becomes a family of three and everything shifts in the most beautiful way. I have photographed a lot of new families, and I will never get tired of this.
But this one? This one was different.
This session was for my nephew. My brother and SIL welcomed their baby boy, and I had the absolute honor of being there with my camera to capture it. Becoming an aunt to this sweet baby angel is one of the greatest feelings I have ever known. And watching two of the most incredible people I know step into parenthood made me tear up behind the lens.
What is a Fresh 48 Session?
A Fresh 48 session takes place in the first 48 hours after your baby is born, typically at the hospital or birth center. No posing, no probs, no elaborate setups — just your new family, exactly as you are in that moment.
These sessions capture the details that disappear faster than you expect: tiny fingers, sleepy faces, the way your baby fits perfectly into your arms for the very first time.

I truly believe every family should have a Fresh 48 session. Not because the photos are beautiful (though they absolutely are) but because those first hours are irreplaceable. You will never get them back.
