50 Year Golden Anniversary Shoot

Lola and Lolo, as they’re called by their grandkids (the most commonly used Filipino words for grandma and grandpa), celebrated their 50 year anniversary with their closest family. It is an honor for a couple to reach a huge milestone like that and have me document it. I am so grateful to have captured these.

The traditional anniversary color for 50 years of marriage is gold. Interesting trivia: this tradition dates back to the 1500’s in Germanic countries. The more you know right?

Lola and Lolo’s family made it a point to pay tribute to them by dressing in golden tones for their 50 year anniversary photoshoot in Addison, IL.

Lola had her cousins there, one whom was a flower girl at their wedding and another who was a bridesmaid at their wedding. Incredible!

Even though it was a bit chilly, it was a perfect evening. The sun was setting over the bare forest and the lighting was favorable. Although one of their kids was unable to make it, the other two along with their families were there showering the golden couple with love. The grandkids were horsing around putting a smile on everyone’s face as I took these gorgeous photos.

Lola and Lolo thank you so much for letting us witness your love that has endured the past 50 years. I could feel the love from the family you have raised. They love you both so much and these pictures are proof. Cheers to many more!
