52 Week Photo Challenge // January

I know, I know, February is almost over and I'm just now writing about January.

As many of you know, in 2016 I participated and completed a 365 day challenge. That was very challenging (hence challenge I guess), pulling out your camera daily and finding things that motivate you while staying with in the prompt was NOT easy. However, like I've said before, it was so worth it just for the learning experience. I highly recommend anyone wanting to learn about their camera and their shooting style to complete a 365.

So, back to the 52 week photo challenge. When I started it, I was glad that it was only once a week. I didn't feel pressured to take a picture EVERY day. Soon though, I realized that I kind of missed shooting daily. I KNOW what you guys are thinking, "well why didn't she just do another 365 if she was going to miss it?". Well, because I didn't know. Don't get me wrong, I still like the freedom of shooting once a week but lately I've been shooting for my prompts about 4 times a week. I think I'll continue this because I feel like I'm still learning the ins and outs of my camera and my personal editing & shooting style. So we'll see. For now, I leave you with my January prompts.

WEEK 1 -  DOCUMENTARY

I was documenting the Christmas decorations coming down. Like always, I can't wait to put them up but I can't wait to bring them down.

WEEK 2 - CANDID

Found sleeping beauty.

So candid! I loved this shot and the background. I feel like it was best in black and white.

WEEK 3 - MY STYLE

This is my style as far as editing. There's just something about dark and moody that I LOVE! A beautiful bride getting ready for her wedding day. Just so happens that this beauty is my sister in law. <3

WEEK 4 - DEPTH

I wanted this couple to be the main focus with a blurred background and lots of bokeh, because we love bokeh.

So that's it for my January weekly photography challenge. February will be up soon.

Leave a comment and let me know what you think. Until next time.

If you would like to book a session or have any questions, please Contact Me Here or please email me
at o@osirisphotography.com. I am happy to answer any questions you may have.

I recommend booking your session with me about 4-6 weeks in advance (sooner if newborn session) as I can’t guarantee space, especially in summer and fall.
